Caerphilly and District Twinning Association
The town of Caerphilly is twinned with Lannion in Brittany, Northern France. Through this association, Llanbradach is twinned with the nearby community of Ploubezre.
The Caerphilly and District Twinning Association exists to promote the links between these communities. For more information on Lannion and Ploubezre see the Lannion page.

The Association arranges visits to and from Lannion on alternate years. Visitors stay with local hosts and have the opportunity to experience local culture and to participate in organised trips to nearby places of interest. The visits always include communal evening entertainment, with the highlight of the visits to Caerphilly being a Gala Dinner in the Great Hall of Caerphilly Castle. The visits often lead to lasting friendships and many members arrange personal visits to and from people they have met through the Association.

In 2016 the Association marked 25 years of Twinning with a visit from our friends in Brittany in July. A plaque was unveiled on the wall of Caerphilly Library to commemorate the occasion.
In 2011, the Association celebrated the 20th Anniversary of the twinning between Caerphilly and Lannion. The occasion was marked by an exhibition comparing daily life in Brittany and Wales between 1850 and 1950. In 2012 the exhibition was staged in Caerphilly. 20th Anniversary Exhibition
